b]Character Name:[/b] Louisa (Lou) Matilda Beckett
Name Origin: The feminine derivative of Ludwig - Hludwig which meant "famous warrior"
Heritage: English
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Marital Status: unwed
Occupation: being a wit, and writing
Status: Gentry
Physical Features: Capped beneath a thick mane of wavy earth-brown hair, her roundish, heart-shaped face peeks out from beneath her unruly bangs. There is an air of vitality to her person, and strength to be noted in the set of her jaw and pert chin. Intelligent, blue-green eyes, slightly upturned at the corners, are alternately fierce and sultry by turns, marking a character given to stubborness and deep convictions. There is sardonic turn to her mouth, which makes her small, full lips often look as though they are smirking at a hidden joke. She is not particularily tall, standing at a mere 5'3, and though her figure is pleasing, it is nothing extraordinary. Her love of outdoor pursuits has given her skin a healthy glow of vitality.

Personality:
Qualities: extremely intelligent, talented at turning a witty phrase, childlike curiosity, deep conviction, imagination, creativity, charismatic, loyal, honest, warm, a talented writer.
Flaws: mischeviousness, smart-alec, an imagination that runs away with her more often than not, stubbornness, easily annoyed with stupidity, anger, proclivity to lash-out, rash behaviour, somewhat unlady-like, a terrible gossip, spoiled.
Likes: horrific gothic Novels, History, riding, hawking, walking, talking, writing, cricket, flirting, exploring new places, gossip, children, and last, but not least food.
Dislikes: idiots, being treated with condescention, having to sit still, having to be lady-like, silence, being ignored, being proven wrong, and being told no.
Habits: Skipping stones to clear her head, reading late into the night, fidgetting.
Family: Grandmother Mary Beckett, Father Martin Beckett, Mother Eliza Beckett, eldest brother Andrew Beckett, sister in law Caroline Beckett, and yougest brother Robin Beckett.
Skills: She has a gift for language, specifically written, though verbally she is articulate as well, with a tendency to be ironic. She is a keen observer of people and society, able to put her finger on the pulse of a room in mere moments. She is a talented hawker, and loves to ride. Children take to her quickly, and she likes them just as well - easily able to manage four or five of the small creatures.
History: Born to Martin and Eliza Beckett, Louisa comes from a long line of humble country lords. Never poor, but niether extraordinarily rich, she lived the blissful life of an only daughter in a loving household; spoiled terribly by a loving father who indulged her love of cricket and reading, and gave her, after a small amount of pleading, her every whim. Affectionately teased by her two brothers for her lack of feminine pursuits, she grew up with an unhealthy streak of independence, and a dangerous proclivity for reading. Her education was seen to by her mother, who attempted to curb her tongue, and her imagination, and failed most miserably at both. However, she succeeded in instilling a modicum of decorum into her wayward daughter - not an easy thing in the least.

Lou grew up fairly devoid of society, save for her thrilling, gory novels. Her father hated town, and her mother was quite content in their homey manor, bossing about the servants and running her home with a military precision. Lou, meanwhile, filled her days with poetry and horrid novels, and even took to the pen herself, writing numerous short stories, and begining novels that she only sometimes finished.

Andrew, the eldest son, recently married, had been pressed by his bride to go out into society for some months, Taking the air in Bath. Having stumbled upon some of her writings by chance one day, he suggested to her that she ought to see about publishing - he work was accomplished, nay, very good indeed! Out of filial kindness and a hope that she pursue a career in writing, or pursue a marriage (this course he was not particularily optimistic about, given her independent nature, but still maintaining hope), Andrew invited Lou to accompany them. Curious and excited, she accepted the invitation readily, and is enthusiastic about her first real foray into polite society.

Face Claim: I really don't know - any suggestions would be great!
Other: growing up in a small community, her social pool was very small. The men of her company are her brother's friends from near infancy, and hers as well, who rarely saw her as anything more than that. She has never been courted, or wooed.

Nice Profile! As for a muse, there are many possibilities. May I suggest looking at Costumers Guide?
