"As if I would have allowed your family to treat you if you'd be wounded!" she replied instead of a direct answer, gently cupping Phoebus' cheek with one hand. "You forget, love has strange paths."Your plan might just work, love. I am glad I came to you." Anaxandra smiled and let her fingers wander to his hair, gently twirling a lock of it. She never did tire of doing that, his hair being so different than her own in colouring, and maybe it was the simple fact that she loved him that she couldn't keep her hands off him.

"You know you can always come to me," he whispered against her lips, before capturing them in a kiss. Then he stood up, and holding her hand in his, gently lifted her up as well. "Come, I have something that I want to show you." Then, he opened the door and looked around, checking to see that there were no servants about, before leading her upstairs and into his bedroom. Then, smiling and winking at her, he pressed down a book called 'The Couch of Eros' on his bookcase, and it swung back to reveal a secret bedchamber, he led her inside. "This room, is for you my love, any time you wish to come here."

Anaxandra smiled softly and kissed him lovingly, wishing the kiss would never end. She would have been quite content in spending the rest of eternity captured in that tender moment, but alas, she had some things yet to do in the world. Emerald orbs widened with almost childlike curiosity and a smile covered her features, her moodswing going from utter bitterness to utter happiness. She folloed Phoebus with the feeling that it was Christmas eve and she was a little girl again waiting for her present. One hand was placed over her lips as she watched the bookcase swing away, and they entered the secret room. Letting go of his hand, the Duchess took a few steps forward and twirled around, looking at Phoebus with a brilliant smile. "Oh it's just marvelous! I feel like a young girl again, playing hide and seek..." and she giggled softly.

Phoebus chuckled and stoked the fire in the grate, before turning to her and stroking her arms "I also have some gifts for you, go and look inside that wardrobe and you will find something that you can wear to the Christmas Party." Inside the wardrobe was a grey silk dress, it was sewn with pearls and embroidered with golden fern leaves, there was a white cashmere shawl and a pair of golden elbow gloves.

By now feeling exactly like a little girl on Christmas morning, Anaxandra had to fight back a squeal of delight, instead rewarding Phoebus with a brilliant smile as she turned and lightly danced to the wardrobe, the skirt of her gown swishing around her as she moved. Upon closer inspection, she found the most beautiful gown she had ever seen (well, sharing the place with the one she wore now...but she was biased anyway, so no matter). Twirling on her heels Anaxandra practically threw herself into Phoebus' arms on impulse, planting a kiss upon his lips, then his cheeks, and on his nose as a little addition too. "It feels like Christmas has come early this year!" she commented, her eyes sparkling with all the adoration and love she felt for the man beside her.

"It certainly has for me!" chuckled Phoebus, and then his face grew serious, as he stroked her cheek and said, "For you have given me two priceless gifts, one of which is your love, and the second is the life that you now carry inside you." He smiled lovingly at her and placed a hand over her stomach where his first born now grew, a child of love and happiness, rather than duty and misery.
