Antonia started at the collision and hastily ran to Edward's side, helping him away from the chaos of the table and sitting him down, pressing a handkerchief to his head. He groaned again but muttered his thanks. Meanwhile Silvia, who had been needing some fresh air to stop herself from strangling Antonia, rushed outside to find Emily along with Domanic who left Darian to break up the fight.

Emily came to as her father lifted her into his arms. She clung to him and shook, afraid of being around another man. But she had enough of her senses to know that she was being held by her father. "I - I didn't know he would... oh, Papa!" she sobbed into his shoulder.
William proceeded to give his old college mate a sound beating. Only the urging of Darian to stop made the groom cease. His knuckles on his right hand were bleeding from knocking out the fop's teeth. A couple of the servants dragged theunconscious man from the pavilion, and William knelt beside his brother. "Edward, are you alright? Do you need a doctor?"

Domanic stroked his daughter's hair as he helped her inside and Silvia fetched a cold compress and pressed it to her forehead, mopping away the blood. "It is alright my dear, he will not harm you again, we have made sure of that." Silvia fetched some brandy and held it to her cousin's lips. She wasn't a complete gorgon.
Edward shook his head and wedged a napkin up one nostril, "I'm fine- is she alright?" he asked nervously, Antonia staring worriedly at William. She got up and began to bind her husband's hand in a new napkin. Edelle came up and murmured to her eldest son that now would be a good time to leave. The party spirit had been ruined.

Emily clung to her father and accepted the brandy as it burned her throat. But it seemed to take the edge off her fear. She dazedly looked up, seeing a bloodied Edward. A gasp left her lips, even as she begged Domanic to send her home to the Abbey that very night. She only felt safe there.
William nodded to his mother's advice and whispered to his wife that it was time to go. One by one, the wedding guests made their way to their way to their carriages. "Let's go. Silvia... it is time."

Antonia wrapped her arm around her husband's and walked back towards the carriages, the mood of their wedding had been utterly dampened and ruined. Plus, she wasn't feeling too good all of a sudden, there was a hot queasiness beginning in her stomach and her cheeks were uncommonly scarlet. Silvia noticed this as she followed them towards the carriage but said nothing. Edward, who had a black eye and a bleeding nose and a bruised backside but nothing worse, limped up to his brother, apologised profusely and thanked him for his help in beating Gregory.

Liam was too distracted by his brother to notice his wife's condition as he handed her into the carriage, then his sister. He turned back to Edward and gave him a pat on the back. "Our cousin Emily will likely not be the same for some time after this. The gossip will be nasty and she will likely be in a state. Look after her?" Then he told Edward he was proud to be his brother and entered the dark carriage with his party. Sitting beside his wife, he wrapped his good arm around her and sighed.

Edward nodded and went over to Domanic, bowing and saying that if he needed someone to escort his cousin back to London, he would do so. Domanic agreed, reluctant to let his little one go, but he wrapped a shawl around her shoulder and let Edward help her into his carriage. Antonia leaned against William's arm and waved at her mother out of the carriage window as their carriage began to drive off. She tugged at the top of her bodice and shifted uncomfortably in her seat.

Emily kissed her father goodbye and went happily into the carriage. Damning propriety, she curled up on the seat in a fetal position and rested her head on her arm. Closing her eyes, she tried to stop shivering in continued fear.
William turned all his attention on his wife as the carriage jolted forward and they were headed for the port. He kissed Antonia on the cheek, and was surprised at the warmth there. But he did not say anything, thinking she might be blushing to be kissed in from of Silvia. "Any guesses on where we are headed, ladies?"
