Tiernan's eyes laughed when she said obey, knowing she never truly would. But he did not expect that of her. He did not wait for the priest either, taking the ring that had been burning a hole in his pocket out of his coat. Taking her hand, he kissed the fingers before saying, "WITH this ring I thee wed, with my body I thee worship, and with all my worldly goods I thee endow: In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen." And onto her slender fingers he slid a matching ring to the one he had given her for their engagement the night before. Little diamonds winked in the center of the flowers and inside was carved, "I am my own's heart"

Araminta giggled as Tiernan raced the priest and then smiled down at the ring, it was perfect, like so many other things he had given her, the best of which being himself. Then, taking her ring from her thumb, where she had hidden it, she slid it onto his finger saying, "WITH this Ring I thee wed, with my worldly goods I thee endow: and by this our Marriage we become One according to God's holy institution. And this I declare in the presence of Almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen." The ring was gold and red with small golden birds carved into it and on the inside was carved 'Beside you forever'.

Tiernan let his fingers find her own and intertwined them, stroking their beautiful rings for the meaning they conveyed. He felt his heart weaken at the sight of her, giggling, happy, devoted... He had never hoped for such a miracle following the spiraling downward of his life. But she had entered and brought light back to him - and inspiration. He thought of his most dear wedding gift for her and smiled.

Araminta's feet shifted restlessly beneath her gown, wanting to have him to herself and finally be wed, as the priest read out the last bit of ceremony it seemed to last forever. "O ETERNAL God, Creator and Preserver of all mankind, Giver of all spiritual grace, the Author of everlasting life: Send thy blessing upon these thy servants, this man and this woman, whom we bless in thy Name; that, as Isaac and Rebecca lived faithfully together, so these persons may surely perform and keep the vow and covenant betwixt them made, and may ever remain in perfect love and peace together, and live according to thy laws; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Those whom God hath joined together let no man put asunder. I know pronounce you man and wife- you may kiss the bride."

Tiernan needed little encouragement there. His hands raised to cup and cradle her face and he caught her lips in a passionate kiss. Mrs. Boscastle began to wail with joy, for surely her daughter would be bearing the next Viscount in weeks with such passion! Juliet and Annalisse comforted their mother, leading her back into the house. Tiernan did not break the kiss but swept Araminta into his arms and followed at a distance behind them. She was his now - forever and ever.
