Entrance Hall The entrance hall is actually quite small, but wide, with steps leading to the upper rooms. The walls are painted pale dove grey with boarders of white. The stairs and floor are polished mahogany covered in smoke blue carpets. Two busts of Roman playwrights sit either side of the stair case and white paneling leads off to the downstairs rooms- the kitchens and the servants' quarters.
The Drawing Room The drawing room is where visitors who are not friends or closest family are received. The walls are a rich royal red with golden borders, the white marble fireplace is elegantly sculptured, above which hangs the largest of the set of oil paintings of landscapes in the room. The floor is covered in a black and gold floral carpet. The sofas, chaise longs and chairs are covered in dull amber and bronze satin and held in golden frames. There are a few palm tress on tables along with scattered books and vases.
The Dining Room The dining room has wallpaper covering the wall, which is midnight blue covered in golden blossom branches and was imported all the way from Japan. The ceiling is elaborately paneled oak, the carpet is massive, covering nearly the entire floor and is cranberry, navy blue and gold, and comes from the middle east. There is a mock medieval styled fire place of glittering granite which catches the light from the chandelier, above which is a crystal mirror. The long polished mahogany table in the centre of the room, along with the 45 seats came from Bavaria.
The Billiard Room The billiard room has simple white walls, in order to draw the eyes to the magnificent hunting, sea storms, exploratory oil paintings that cover most of the wall. There are no family portraits. There are two dull gold satin covered chaise longs and a large pool table in the centre of the room. The floor is covered in a rich, autumnal carpet. This is where Drake spends most of his house held parties with his friends.
The Parlour The parlour is perhaps, next to the study and the mistress' bedroom, one of the smallest rooms in the house, it has cream coloured walls with a blue cornflower border. The furniture is simple but chic. There are a set of cream silk covered chairs and sofas in dark polished frames. There a few paintings of famous sea faring heroes of Drake's up on the wall, along with a portrait of himself, and another of his wife. There is a small round mahogany coffee table in the middle over the circle of sofas and chairs. The floor is covered in a rich deep red and blue and green carpet and there is a door leading into the breakfast room. This is where Mrs Raleigh entertains close friends and family.
The Breakfast Room The breakfast room has pale lemon yellow painted walls with white borders, and vines trailing over them. The floor is covered in a thick crimson carpet and a round table covered in an indian muslin tablecloth is at the centre of the room. A vase of peonies, Mrs Raleigh's favourite flowers sits at the centre, the table is surrounded by six white chairs. There is a china cabinet along one wall and a elegantly carved covered stove to warm the room. It leads off into the study in one direction, and into the parlour from another way.
The Study The study has Japanese wallpaper as well depicting water lilies and dragon flies. The floor is covered in a mulberry and dark golden carpet. There is a pentagonal mahogany table from Russia in the centre surrounded by two or three chairs from Seville, Spain. There are several cabinets filled with treasures collected from Drake's travels. A Chinese lantern hangs from the ceiling and there is a harp in the corner, there are also about four black and gold book cases from Florence, filled with books, though Drake does not have much time or inclination to read them.
The Master Bedchamber The master bedchamber is one of the most luxurious in the house, it has white paneled walls with floor length shutters that open up onto a balcony that over looks the docks, and Drake's ship. Plush scarlet silk curtains cover the shutters at night, and match the silk covered chaise longs and chairs and bed post coverings. The bed has a dull blue silk curtain at it's head to match it's cushions and coverings and the cushions on the sofas. There is a low polished coffee table scattered with books and flower filled vases and a side door leading to Drake's dressing room and Mrs Raleigh's room.

The Mistress' Bedchamber Mrs Raleigh's bedchamber is the smallest room in the house, deliberately so as it's master wants her to spend more time in his bed than hers. The walls are a deep purple to match the hangings and coverings on the gold fringed four poster bed. There are two antique chairs, a small table above which is a mirror and a fire place, there is a side door leading off to her dressing room.
