The front parlour The front parlour is one of the prettiest rooms in the house, it has white walls with a blue bell border, the curtains are a pale sky blue silk, with tasseled fringing. The velvet sofas match the curtains and are in polished ebony frames, there is a dark grey marble fireplace over which has a portrait of Helizabel's mother. There is a polished ebony coffee table in the centre of the room one which is place an expensive silver set of candlesticks and an antique vase which is always filled with fresh flowers by Helizabel.
The dining room The dining room is a pale sea blue with white borders, the room is light and airy. There is a small white marble fire place over which hangs an oval mirror made of finest crystal and held in a golden frame. There is a long of dark, polished mahogany with matching chairs with pale grey blue velvet cushions on the seats, the table can comfortably sit between eight to ten, and the carpet is a dark navy blue with a flowered pattern on it.
The drawing room The drawing room is the smallest downstairs room, save the kitchen in the servant's quarters and is painted a subtle sunshine yellow with plum muslin curtains at the windows. The carpet is a dull, dark spring green covered in a flowered pattern. There is an off white fire place over which hangs a painting by Helizabel's father. There are a couple of white high backed chairs around a coffee table and several elegant but spindly dark oak chairs in the corner.
The study The study is Edward's refuge, here he can read in peace and watch his daughter dance and play in the garden. The walls are a pale grey with dull teal green velvet curtains. There are a lot of comfortable, mis-matching chairs and sadly only five pine floor to ceiling book cases, crammed full of Edward's books, only the ones he could bring with him to England. There are a lot of small, spindly tables on which stand family heirlooms and vases filled with flowers from the garden picked by Helizabel.
The Garden The garden is long and narrow, surrounded by a high red brick wall, mellowed by the sun. It is covered in climbing roses, jasmine and sweet peas. The garden is full of blossom and fruit trees, and a swing hangs from a peach tree. The flower beds are over flowing with bright and beautiful flowers and the iron wrought garden gate is surrounded by honeysuckle and clematis.
Edward Valhurst's Bedroom Edward's room is on the top floor, at the front of the house, over looking the noisy bustle of the most fashionable street to live in, in Bath. The walls are a pale gold with a dark green and amber leaf border. The curtains are a dull apricot velvet and the carpet is a pale mint green, diamond patterned, of which Helizabel does not approve. A four poster bed dominates the room with medium golden silk drapes, dark amber velvet coverings and cushions which match to the coverings on two chairs which are placed at the end of the bed, opposite a small round table. A matching velvet sofa sits by the window and there is a dark ebony fireplace over which hangs another portrait of Helizabel's mother.
Helizabel Valhurst's Bedroom Helizabel's room has pale rose bud pink walls with peach and pale gold silk curtains. The windows overlook the garden at the back. There is a small white marble fire place in a corner, above which hangs one of her father's paintings of a vase of exotic roses, there is a small mahogany desk with a matching chair that serves both as a dressing and writing table. On it is a small mother of pearl jewelry box, a matching brush, and a pile of parchment with a pot of ink and a quill. Next to the bed is a large chest for her clothes, on it is a china jug and silver basin and a candle in a holder and another vase of flowers. A four poster bed dominates the room, it has pale peach satin coverings, to match the pale gold, amber, rose and peach curtains and cushions that cover it.
